The WYD Rio launched an app to follow the WYD cross and the Mary’s icon in their journey around Latin America.
Developed by the Department of Technology of Information of Canção Nova Catholic Community, at the request of the WYD Rio 2013 Institute, the application can be acquired initially on ITunes Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod users.
The app is in Portuguese but is very intuitive because of the color coding. It displays a map so you can see where the cross is or even where it was. The green circles will point out on the map all places where the Cross has been ; it will display name, address, and date of visit (arrival and departure). The red circle will show where the cross is at the moment, with information about the region and options for how to get there.
The yellow circle will indicate all the registered locations to be visited by the Cross. As with the other options, the user can also see the information about the region that will receive the WYD symbols. You can download the app here
